Undergraduate School/degree:

Southern New Hampshire University, BS Accounting

Background – where are you from originally?

Fayetteville, NC

Past work/leadership experience/activities in college

For the past 17 years, I have worked in the dental field and am currently working part-time as a dental hygienist. With the support and encouragement from my husband in 2019, I decided to further my education again. I contemplated applying to dental school; however, after completing an accounting class, I knew the accounting field was the direction I should take.

What type of job would you like to have after completing the MAC Program?

I hope to work as a tax professional or auditor. However, I have not decided which specialty I would like to pursue.

Do you have any advice or tips you would like to give prospective students looking at applying to MAC programs?

My advice to prospective students looking at applying to MAC programs is to compare the pros and cons of each program to decide which one will be the best fit for you. Consider the pass rates for the CPA exam at each university, what your interaction with faculty and classmates will be like in the program, and how flexible the programs are based on your work schedule and home life.

Why did you choose the NC State MAC Program?

I choose the Jenkins MAC Program because of its high CPA exam pass rate. The online program is also flexible with my work and family schedule, making pursuing a higher education feasible.

What are your expectations while attending the MAC Program?

I expect to gain knowledge that will help me pass the CPA exam and prepare me for my future career.

What are you looking forward to the most while in the Program?

I look forward to networking with fellow students with whom I will be working in teams over the course of the program. I am also looking forward to gaining insight from the instructors and staff within the MAC program to benefit my future accounting career.
