Alumni Engagement

Staying connected with the Jenkins MAC family is more than just keeping in touch. It's about being part of a vibrant community that keeps growing and giving back, long after the caps and gowns are put away.

Jenkins MAC alumni are critical in continuing the success of the program. Opportunities to engage with faculty and students are available all year long. Connect with the MAC team today to be a mentor, contribute to a panel, attend an alumni event and much more!

Mentors

Each year alumni have the opportunity to be mentors to NC State undergraduate accounting students. The mentor program begins in March when students and mentors come together to meet. Over the summer they are required to connect with each other at least three times with one of those times being in person. Mentors help provide professional guidance to the student and assist them in developing their professional network. The MAC Program will match accounting students to their mentor. Selections will be made based upon their personal and career interests. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please contact Kelly Hardy.

Alumni Panels & Speakers

NC State alumni speaking at a panel

Alumni are needed throughout the academic year to serve on panels in and outside of the classroom. Starting at orientation, MAC students learn from past students about the transition from undergraduate to graduate school and what they can expect the first year after graduation. Speakers in class provide real world knowledge that coincides with the current course topic. Contact Scott Showalter, if you would like to come back to campus and share your experiences with current students.

Alumni Events

  • Each year the Jenkins MAC program celebrates and award two individuals as the Distinguished MAC Alumni and the Friend of the MAC Program at our Annual MAC Celebration and Awards.
  • Over the summer alumni living in Atlanta, Washington D.C, or Charlotte can connect with new students and staff on the Tour of Cities trips. Each evening on these tours includes a firm and alumni social at a local restaurant.
  • Welcome the new MAC class in August and come back to campus for the Alumni & New Student Social hosted in Raleigh. This is a great opportunity to offer advice and support for incoming students right before the school year begins.

Contact Kelly Hardy for more information on these events.
