Undergraduate School/Degree

University of North Carolina Asheville – B.S. in Accounting

Background – where are you from originally?

Baguio City, Philippines

Past work/leadership experience/activities in college

My past work experience includes being a Real Estate Broker at Keller Williams Realty and a VITA Tax Quality Reviewer. As an undergraduate I was involved in InterVarsity as a Student Leader and with UNCA’s Accounting Association as a Committee Chair. I am currently working as a NCSU Graduate Assistant for ACC 220.

What type of job would you like to have after completing the MAC Program?

I was fortunately offered a full-time position with Clifton Larson Allen through the Firm Fellow Program. I will be joining their Raleigh office as an associate next fall.

Do you have any advice or tips you would like to give prospective students looking at applying to MAC programs?

The most rewarding things will challenge you the most! I will admit that it doesn’t feel that way in the moment, but remember that there’s always an end to everything. Aside from that, take care of yourselves. Invest in the activities and relationships that bring you joy, and that positivity will translate well into helping you become a world class professional.

Why did you choose the NC State MAC Program?

I chose NC State’s MAC program because the staff and the curriculum were dedicated to the development of our careers, and even with the our professors busy schedules they still make an effort to have their Zoom doors open to meet with students about school, careers, or just general advice.

What are your expectations while attending the MAC Program?

I expect that attending the MAC Program will challenge and push me in ways that will ultimately prove useful in my career. To give an example, we recently went through a Data Analytics bootcamp that exposed me to using data sets and visualization software to generate impactful presentations and information for future clients.

What are you looking forward to the most while in the Program?

I am most excited for future social events that will allow me to network with my peers and professors outside of the classroom and Zoom calls!
