Virtual CPE Summer Series

The Lifelong Learning Virtual CPE Summer Series features three one-hour virtual sessions.

Sharpen your skills and earn CPE hours. The Virtual CPE Summer Series is open to any interested accounting professionals—including MAC alumni and their colleagues, public accounting and industry partners. Lifelong Learning programs are delivered in collaboration with NC State Executive Education.

Session Description and Learning Objectives:

Imposter Syndrome can show up as doubting your ability or fear of being exposed as a fraud, despite EVIDENCE of success. During the session, we will identify 5 ways to starve imposter syndrome and how to protect the evidence of our successes.

At the conclusion of this session the participant will be able to:

  1. Identify what feeds imposter syndrome
  2. Implement practices to starve imposter syndrome
  3. Understand the Benefits of an Advisory Board

Topic: A Dialogue with the Chief Accountant of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)

Presenter: Paul Munter, chief accountant, U.S. Securities and Exchanges Commission (SEC)

Session Description and Learning Objectives:

Paul Munter serves as the Chief Accountant of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and is a key contributor to the oversight of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the Public Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). 

At the conclusion of the session the participant will be able to:

  1. Describe the key requirements to become SEC Chief Accountant
  2. Describe the key responsibilities of the SEC Chief Accountant
  3. Understand key agenda items being addressed by the SEC
  4. Gain an understanding about current issues facing the accounting profession

More so than ever before, today’s teams are likely to be hybrid and remote, necessitating a different set of leadership and management skills for motivating these team types. In addition, the workforce is dominated by Generation Y and, more recently, Generation Z. This session is designed to give you hands-on tactics for leading multi-generational hybrid and remote teams, with a special emphasis on Gen Y and Z team members. Key differences between fully remote and hybrid team working will also be discussed.

After this session, participants will be able to:

  1. More effectively lead hybrid and remote teams
  2. Understand the generational challenges and opportunities embedded in today’s teams
  3. Leverage generational differences to enhance team success

Refund: For group internet based webinars offered via MAC Lifelong Learning, all sales are final. Full or partial refunds will not be issued for failure to attend one or more of the virtual events offered as a subscription.  Refunds will not be issued if attendees fail to attend or do not complete the required actions to earn CPE credits. Attendees who do not attend or do not complete the required actions to earn CPE will receive a link to the recording of the event after the completion of the course. This recording does not qualify for CPE credits.  

Cancellation: In case of program cancellation by MAC Lifelong Learning, when practicable, all registered participants will be contacted via-email with at least two weeks’ notice. Pro Rata registration fees will be refunded to all participants when the event was not rescheduled.
