Meet Henry Kunz, audit associate at Blackman & Sloop and a 2025 graduate of the Jenkins MAC Program!
Henry attended NC State as an undergraduate, first in engineering before switching to business administration at Poole College. He eventually got a job at Etix, following his interesting in music and live events, and spent half a year in the accounting department. "I realized the work fit the way my brain operates," he says. "I liked the structure, the problem-solving and the chance to understand how a business works."
After a few life changes made him thing about his long-term career, he joined the Jenkins MAC program. "I could work in public accounting, move into industry, or use the same skills in entertainment, sports or nonprofit organizations," he says. "My first conversation was with [Admissions Director] Jay Arrington, who walked me through the program and made the process feel personal. Every person I met afterward was knowledgeable, invested and eager to help."
Henry secured his job with Blackman & Sloop after meeting them at Meet the Firms, a recruiting event for MAC students. Long term, he`s considering CFO or controller roles, but he`s grateful for the flexibility that his field offers: "I do not need to choose one path yet. Public accounting lets me build skills and reassess as my interests grow."
Henry encourages anyone interested in the MAC program to reach out to staff, faculty, students and alumni. "Online applications, grades and résumés matter, but a phone call, coffee meeting or in-person conversation gives you information you will not find on a website."

Meet Connor Langley and Chris Cornett, two of the newest Jenkins MAC students!
Connor is a fourth-generation NC State student who comes to the MAC program with a bachelor`s degree in accounting from Poole College. He spent three seasons as a reporting analyst for NC State Baseball, developing scouting reports on opposing teams. He also interned at Red Hat twice. Now he`s seeking his MAC degree via the on-campus track, with plans to work in audit after passing the CPA exam.
Chris comes to the MAC program with over 25 years of experience in operations management, financial management and accounting. A U.S. Navy veteran and graduate of the Jenkins MBA program, he is currently a leader for a currency technology company and owns two businesses. He hopes to combine advanced accounting knowledge with his operations experience to help small businesses — particularly veteran-owned businesses — navigate tax, financial and accounting challenges.
