Recruitment Events

The MAC team works closely with students and employers to develop job opportunities in all fields of accounting. As a result of the program's professional relationships, career related activities, and high quality education, our students have been very successful in career placement.

MAC students have access to a wide range of career services programs and events throughout the year. Kelly Hardy, the MAC program’s associate director of career services, dedicates her time as a career counseling resource for all MAC students.

Tour of Cities

Students participate in career-related visits to southeastern cities for exposure to a wide array of professional opportunities. Cities visited include: Atlanta, Greensboro, Charlotte and Washington D.C. Trips are taken during the summer prior to the start of the MAC Program in the fall. In addition to on-site employer visits, the MAC Program holds an alumni social during its stay to provide valuable networking opportunities for students and area alumni.

Meet the Pack

The MAC program’s Meet the Pack event creates a setting where graduate students and internship candidates can network and discuss careers in public accounting with representatives from public accounting firms, corporations and government organizations. The event takes place at the end of August/early September and prepares students for the campus interviews they will participate in throughout the fall and spring semesters. Over thirty organizations participate each year.

Career Workshops

Students have the opportunity to attend career workshops throughout the semester.  Topics include:

  • Resume Critiques
  • Turning your First Interview into a Second
  • Making the Most of Your Office Visit
  • Mock Interviews
  • Professional Dress
  • Dining Etiquette and Professional Networking
