N.C. Gov. Cooper Weighs In on Sports Gambling Research by Poole College’s Goldman, Lewellen
A recent CBS-17 News segment showcased research by Poole College economists Nathan Goldman and Christina Lewellen on the implications of North Carolinians being unable to itemize their gambling losses — and highlighted N.C. Gov. Roy Cooper’s call for the state’s legislature to “fix” the issue.
“The state actually has the power to address this immediately,” Goldman said in the segment. “Most notably, what would really help, is it would eliminate these tax surprises.”
