Jenkins MAC Students Awarded NC CPA Foundation Scholarships

Nelson Hall

Four current NC State Jenkins Master of Accounting students are recent recipients of NC CPA Foundation Scholarships. The Foundation’s goal is to attract and support the next generation of CPAs. Awards are given to applicants who understand the critical role that CPAs play in our society and who are eager to join a profession built on a commitment to serve the public interest.

According to the Foundation, the CPA of the future must have the ability to analyze complex information and communicate it in ways that people can understand. They looked for applications from students who “enjoy finding practical significance in abstract ideas, have strong interpersonal skills, and are technologically adept, highly disciplined, and equally productive whether working alone or in collaboration.”

Applicants were asked to provide information demonstrating that they possess these traits or have the potential to develop them. The award has three scholarship levels, community college, undergraduate program and graduate program.
