What type of job would you like to have after completing the MAC Program? If you already have secured a job – where and what area?

I am thrilled to be joining the Dixon Hughes Goodman family as an IT Advisory Associate in the Raleigh office upon completion of the MAC program.

Do you have any advice or tips you would like to give prospective students looking at applying to MAC programs?

I would recommend attending information sessions because they give you an opportunity to interact with faculty and current students to help determine if the program is a good fit for you. Also,  I think it’s important to be active in your community and/or university and contribute time to a cause that you are passionate about outside of your academic studies. Lastly, make an effort to get some real-world exposure to the accounting profession; whether it be through an internship, office visit, or mentor-mentee relationship.

Why did you choose the NC State MAC Program?

Well, the list is quite extensive! Firstly, I’ve met both seasoned and younger CPAs who graduated from the NCSU MAC program; all of them had great experiences and exemplified the prestige of the alumni network. Secondly, none of the other Master of Accounting programs I visited in NC offered the IT concentration option, a comparable study abroad opportunity, or the warm welcome I received from NC State faculty and staff. Finally, I liked that the seven classes I took at Wake Technical Community College satisfied the NC State MAC prerequisite requirement.

What are your expectations while attending the MAC Program?

I expect to receive a stellar education from NC State’s experienced faculty, develop skills that will be useful in my career, and gain knowledge that will prepare me for the CPA exam.

What are you looking forward to the most while in the Program?

I look forward to collaborating with my classmates, being challenged in ways that I was not challenged in undergrad, and growing academically and professionally.
