Do you have any advice or tips you would like to give prospective students looking at applying to MAC programs?

Stress less! You have all the bells and whistles to submit a fantastic application. Exude confidence during your interview, know your short & long term goals, and, most of all, know why NC State is the best option for you.

Why did you choose the NC State MAC Program?

I was introduced to the NC State Jenkins MAC Program early on in my undergrad years either ‘through the grapevine’ or from the Associate Director of Admissions campus visit. The time spent building that relationship with Fayetteville State accounting and Finance students really planted a lasting seed and led my focus on NC State as a target graduate school. The program depicts a healthy mix of challenging course studies and scheduling flexibility, complemented by amazing job opportunities.

What are your expectations while attending the MAC Program?

My expectations while attending the MAC Program are to strengthen my understanding of my role as an internal auditor and to apply concepts I learn from course studies while working on audit engagements from day to day. Additionally, I expect to gain the knowledge and preparation needed to sit and pass all sections of the CPA exam by mid summer 2020.

What are you looking forward to the most while in the Program?

Based on a Strengths Finders Assessment, my greatest strength is Learner. Accordingly, I most look forward to the learning aspect of the program. Just based on my summer courses alone, I have learned very valuable information that works together to enhance my perspective as an auditor and frame a stronger focused mindset of how best to excel in my work.
